Instagram Video Downloader — Reels, Posts, Photos & Carousels

Save Instagram reels and feed video as MP4, pull the audio as MP3, and grab photo posts and carousels at full resolution. Public content needs no login and no account. Free for 3 downloads a day.

How to download a Instagram video

  1. Copy the Instagram post URL. Open the reel, video, photo post or carousel and copy the URL from your browser's address bar, or use Share → Copy link in the app. Both instagram.com/reel/<code>/ and instagram.com/p/<code>/ forms work.
  2. Paste it into TubePull. Paste the URL into the download box at the top of this page. TubePull resolves the post, works out whether it is video, a still, or a multi-slide carousel, and shows you the formats that actually exist for it.
  3. Pick your format and download. For reels and feed video choose MP4 for video with audio, or MP3 for audio only. For photo posts pick Original, Large or Medium. For carousels take the whole post as a numbered ZIP, or grab a single slide. Public posts need no login; only stories and highlights require a one-time free Instagram account link.

Download Instagram reels, video, photos and carousels

TubePull is a free Instagram downloader that handles every public post type Instagram publishes: reels, feed video, single photo posts, and multi-slide carousels. Paste the post URL into the box at the top of this page and TubePull resolves the underlying media file — the same file Instagram's own player and viewer load — rather than a re-encoded screen capture.

Public Instagram content needs no login, no account, and no browser extension. There is no Pro gate on Instagram either: it is a free-tier platform exactly like TikTok, covered by the three-downloads-a-day free allowance, with the $4.99/month Pro plan removing the daily cap rather than unlocking the platform.

Reels and feed video come back as MP4 at the highest resolution Instagram stored for that upload — Instagram encodes at up to 1080p, so 1080p is the practical ceiling for every Instagram download regardless of plan. Choose MP3 instead if you only want the audio.

Instagram photo posts and carousels

Instagram serves three display resolutions for every still it hosts, and TubePull exposes all three — Original, Large, and Medium — so you can take the full-resolution JPG instead of the downscaled version the web page happens to render at your window size.

A carousel (a post with multiple slides, the ones with the dot indicator) downloads as a single ZIP containing every slide in order, numbered from 1 to match Instagram's own ?img_index= parameter. Carousels can mix stills and video, so each member of the ZIP keeps its own extension — .jpg for photos, .mp4 for clips — instead of everything being flattened into one container. You can also pull a single slide on its own if that is all you need.

Stories and highlights are the one exception on this page. Instagram does not serve them to an anonymous request at all — the story surfaces are auth-gated by Instagram, so no third-party tool can resolve them without a signed-in session. Public reels, feed video, photo posts and carousels are unaffected and keep working with no login.

To stay inside that rule, TubePull lets you link your Instagram account once from your account page. We store an encrypted session credential and the worker uses it only to fetch the specific content you ask for. Linking is free on every tier — it is what satisfies Instagram's sign-in requirement, not a paywall, and it is separate from any TubePull Pro plan. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored credential.

A linked session only ever sees what that account can already see. It does not grant access to accounts you do not follow, and TubePull does not use it to send follow requests, view counts, or any other write action.

What works

  • Public reel URLs: instagram.com/reel/<code>/ and the older instagram.com/p/<code>/ form
  • Public feed video, saved as MP4 with audio at up to 1080p
  • Audio-only extraction: choose MP3 to keep just the sound from a reel
  • Single photo posts, at Original, Large or Medium resolution
  • Carousels: every slide in one ZIP, numbered in post order, mixed photo and video preserved
  • Stories and highlights from accounts your linked Instagram account can already view

What does not work

  • Private accounts. TubePull downloads public content only. An account set to private is not public content, and a linked session does not change that — TubePull will not fetch from an account you cannot already view.
  • Follower-restricted and close-friends content. TubePull does not bypass follower restrictions, close-friends lists, or any other access control Instagram enforces. If Instagram would not show it to you, TubePull will not fetch it.
  • Direct messages and anything else that is not a public web URL
  • Posts that have been deleted by the creator or removed by Instagram moderation, since the source file is gone from the CDN
  • Live broadcasts while they are in progress: try again once the broadcast ends and Instagram publishes it as a reel or a story
  • Instagram does not encode above 1080p, so there is no 1440p or 4K Instagram download to offer — on any plan, from any tool

Downloading responsibly

Instagram content is created by people who hold the copyright to it. Downloading a public reel to watch offline, to archive your own posts, or to reference material you have permission to use is a normal thing to do. Re-uploading someone else's video as your own, stripping credit, or redistributing it commercially is not, and it is not something TubePull can make lawful.

TubePull only ever fetches content that is already publicly reachable, and only what you specifically request. See the safety page for how we handle requests and what we log, and is it legal to download videos for the wider legal framing.

Why TubePull instead of the ad-wall Instagram downloaders

Most dedicated Instagram downloaders — SnapInsta, InstaSave, FastDl and the rest — work by wrapping the same public endpoints, and pay for themselves with interstitial ads and fake "Download" buttons. The practical differences:

  • No ads at all. No interstitials between paste and download, no fake download buttons, no popup redirects anywhere on the site.
  • One account, every platform. The same free tier and the same Pro plan cover Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Twitch and the rest — over 10 platforms, not a single-site tool.
  • Carousels handled properly. Most tools make you download a carousel one slide at a time; TubePull hands you the whole post as a numbered ZIP.
  • Full-resolution stills. The Original rung is the file Instagram stored, not the downscaled render the page happened to show.
  • Download history. Every download is logged to your account when you're signed in, so you can re-fetch without re-pasting.
  • Built on yt-dlp, the same open-source extractor archival projects rely on. When Instagram changes its delivery parameters, upstream tends to ship a fix quickly and we pick it up on the next deploy.

Frequently asked questions

Can TubePull download Instagram reels and videos?
Yes. Paste a public Instagram reel or post URL into the box at the top of this page and TubePull saves it as an MP4 with audio, or as an MP3 if you only want the sound. Public reels and feed video need no login and no account — just the URL.
Do I need an account to download from Instagram?
Not for public content. Public reels, feed video, photo posts and carousels download anonymously with no login. Only Instagram stories and highlights need a one-time, free Instagram account link, because Instagram refuses to serve those surfaces to an anonymous request at all.
Do I need a paid plan for Instagram?
No. Instagram is a free-tier platform on TubePull, the same as TikTok — there is no Pro gate and no add-on. The free tier covers 3 downloads per rolling 24 hours; the $4.99/month Pro plan removes that daily cap, but it is not what unlocks Instagram.
How do I download a whole Instagram carousel?
Paste the carousel post URL and TubePull returns every slide as a single ZIP, numbered in post order to match Instagram's own ?img_index= parameter. Carousels that mix photos and video keep the right extension per slide — .jpg for stills, .mp4 for clips. You can also pull an individual slide on its own.
Can I download Instagram photos at full resolution?
Yes. Instagram serves three display resolutions for every still it hosts, and TubePull offers all three — Original, Large and Medium. Pick Original to get the full-resolution JPG rather than the downscaled version the web page renders at your window size.
Can TubePull download from a private Instagram account?
No. TubePull downloads public content only. It does not bypass private accounts, follower restrictions, or close-friends lists, and linking your own Instagram account does not change that — a linked session can only ever reach content that account could already view.
Is there a 4K Instagram downloader?
No, and not because of a plan limit. Instagram does not encode above 1080p, so 1080p is the highest quality that exists for any Instagram upload. Any tool advertising a 4K Instagram download is upscaling, not fetching a real 4K source.
